Salad Drawer

my salad drawer always cracks in every fridge i've had is it me just clumsy or do others find this happening

I’ve my fridge/freezer about ten years, just happened about a month ago.

Happened in our previous fridge but not until 16 years after purchase.

Hasn't happened in our new fridge - let's hope I haven't jinxed it.

Never heard of this before maybe a bit heavy handed be more careful and lettuce know how it goes

Yep...mines cracked. It's only about 4 years old.

mally, do you wash it in too hot water? I always line mine with loads of kitchen roll to avoid residual mess that may stick and need a good scrub out every week.

wash it often in warm soapy water but they crack when i lift them out .only salad stuff inside so not over loaded .

Tip - empty out the water before lifting, mally ;)

Do you have a mixer tap to swing out of the way first?

yes i have a mixer tap .it's when i lift it from fridge it cracks .x

Our Samsung 'American' fridge freezer has held out (touches wood) but our built in Phillips broke within two years, as have all others we have had.

never had that happen - maybe if you try to close the fridge with the salad drawer party open & give it a bang?
