Will this card issued in the UK be valid in the New Year? If it's not I was thinking of applying for an Irish one. I have an Irish passport. Looking
on-line it seems you need to be resident in the Republic of Ireland and not N Ireland to be eligible.
What to do?

I have played rugby and motorcycled around the EUSSR for 30 years and Ireland was the only place I was afforded public health care, and that cost £70 for a tetanus jab which I was able to use my E111 for. That is my experience.
Perhaps you should stop falling off your motorcycle....?
How many times did you need medical treatment in an EU country?
I really can't find the answer to this one, sandyRoe - it looks as though the EHIC won't work for Brits as of Jan 1, but as for what happens to EU citizens who aren't resident in the EU (is that you - Irish but living in NI?) I can't find anything. Maybe someone will be able to dig it out for you, or maybe Boris will try to attach the matter to the border issue.
gawd elp us Mr Contrarian has joined us. I'll leave you all to your EUSSR love in party.
Is it time for your bed, TGT?
A glass of warm milk and your favourite Spiderman pyjamas should give you a good night's sleep and then perhaps you won't be quite as fractious in the morning....
If, by "Mr Contrarian" you mean me, it was a simple and relevant question but you have chosen not to answer it.

I wonder why that is?
because it doesn't matter what anyone says to you TCL you just contrarianise it.
Frankly I'm sick of playing your BS games.
