Mention of the rise of the Far-Right and criticisms against Tommy Robinson, President Trump and White supremacy etc.

They never pointed the finger at Islam per-se or the rise of Islamic terrorism in our own country, after the terrorist attacks here and those in Europe, no what we did hear, that these were carried out by not real Muslims but lone radical Muslims.

We also didn't hear the same sympathetic response of our terrorist attacks from our Muslim communities, as the West is now rightly showing over this latest News Zealand attack.

As a white person I take offence at being linked to 'WHITE' supremacism, just as I suspect that Muslims would at being linked to Islamic supremacism.

You could say that never is a good time to speak about an uncomfortable truth. what you mean Tommy is down there

Cool !
AOG - // They never pointed the finger at Islam per-se or the rise of Islamic terrorism in our own country, after the terrorist attacks here and those in Europe, no what we did hear, that these were carried out by not real Muslims but lone radical Muslims. //

Perhaps to do so would lay the media open to the accusation that they are inferring that innocent Muslims deserve to be massacred because of what a lunatic minority have done in the name of the faith they share - at least superficially.
You won't find this in the Guardian.....or on the Beep Beep See.

//The recent death toll of Christians in Nigeria has reached 120 with this week’s slaughter of more than 50 by Fulani Muslim militants in the Kaduna state of Nigeria, the Christian Post reported.
The Fulani jihadists, who have become a greater threat to Nigerian Christians than the Islamist terror group Boko Haram, stormed the villages of Inkirimi, Dogonnoma, and Ungwan Gora in the Kajuru Local Government Area last Monday, destroying 143 homes, killing 52 people, and wounding dozens more.
The assailants reportedly split into three groups, the first of which fired upon the people, the second set fire to buildings, and the third chased down people fleeing from the scene. Victims of the assault included women and children.
Monday’s incident followed an attack the day before in the Ungwan Barde village in Kajuru, where 17 Christians were killed and dozens of homes were burned.
In the first week of March, Muslim extremists massacred more than 30 Christians in Karamar village, setting fire to several houses and a church. The terrorists reportedly shot at families trying to escape the fire, killing 32.//

Oh what a World we live in. The killers were not apprehended and they did not advertise their actions on the webbywatsit. But they will do it again.
I prefer to get my news from sources based and funded openly in this country than those that are paid to push Christianity over democracy.

But then I can spell BBC.
I'm sure. Not a word of truth in it? Rearrange this well known phrase. Head my sand in always put.
From JF85 , //I prefer to get my news from sources based and funded openly in this country than those that are paid to push Christianity over democracy.//

That endorses aog’s orginal point. Many atrocities carried out by Muslims go unreported by the western press – but it doesn’t follow that they’re not happening. They are.

I googled Togo's extract and found it was from a report in Breitbart, strange that in the list given up, there was not a report on this by any from the British press.

Doesn't that say something, unless of course you say that Breitbart made it all up to fit in with their agenda.

9 more killed last night...that's probably not even on Breitbart yet.

What you're saying there is 'ignorance is bliss'
The danger from the Far Right is all too real and growing. One Australian senator blamed it on Muslims just for being there. In 1930's Jews were targetted in Germany just for being there. i hope people can see the parallels
Terrorist attacks will always garner attention from the media.

To say that this case has resulted in more coverage than say, the Westminster or London Bridge attacks might true though.

That may be because so many more people were killed and the event was live streamed. It’s that second part that increases the horror.

But why are we even asking this question?

There are people crying tears over dead brothers, sisters, wives and children. Is it really the right time to be weighing the response from the media?
Clearly AOG believes it is.
You could say that never is a good time to speak about an uncomfortable truth.

The level of horror is perhaps magnified where live streaming is concerned. However,I and most people, would have no intention of watching such footage but murder is murder and when we have situations where we have beheadings, vehicles being driven into pedestrians, people being stabbed including a policeman at Westminster, suicide bombers,a woman who ends up in the Thames and is killed, and the reporting of many of these incidents is lesser and doesn't want to be too critical about Islam and the lack of condemnation from Islamists, then it does make for an unlevel playing field.

We shouldn't have to discuss comparisons at all but if immediate pressure isn't brought to bear on the media then it will continue to operate in an inconsistent and unfair manner.
