To buy myself a dolls' house?

Having had a son, it's unlikely I'll ever buy him one.

This dolls' house took its creator 35 years to complete:

nom.. I regret to this day the demise 0f my doll's house.. dad made me as well as the furniture..it had had lights and wee taps etc.. was given away with lots of toys to the orphanage without my knowledge..I cried for weeks...

You are never too old to indulge. I know a lady who bought one when her 60s and she loved and did add to it.

Never too old for 'toys' in my book NoM. If I had the money, (and space)I would go out and buy myself a train set tbh. Seriously!
Years ago my uncle, after he retired, took to making dolls house's as a hobby. Turned out to be a nice little earner as well, supplementing his pension. If you want one, buy one I say, and enjoy it as well.

We have a huge hand me down dolls house from my one great grandmother, and my brothers and sisters played / play with it equally, so yes buy your son one, he'll love it xx

You're too young to think of yourself as too old...for anything. Go for it! Have fun...just by yourself...and later with wee Nom.

Don't assume your son won't want a doll's house! We bought a beautiful on as a special present for female grandsprog's 5th birthday and it was duly installed in her bedroom. Grandson (7)was continually invading to rearrange the furniture so it is now in a communal area. :)
A lady in the village has a hobby of making dolls' houses, she loves it and it is wonderful passing her windows.

When he's a bit older I'll take him to the aforementioned model shop and she if he shows any interest.
