Update to this...

Finally got a response to our petition, s'not gonna happen folks :(

"The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “Please sign the petition for the Robin to become our official National Bird.”.

Government responded:

"The robin doesn’t need official status to make it an icon of the British countryside. The Government is committed to protecting all wild birds, but has no plans to adopt a national bird at this time....."

then it waffled on for ages, but the gist of it is, s'not happening.

Wouldn't a fox, Ferret or the legendary British Bulldog be a better representative? I know they're not Aves but still.
