Mcfluff we are all entitled to our own opinions....as you have voiced yours too, whether we agree with them is another matter. Some people like things for a reason and some dislike them for their reason...part of life. If people with tattoos do it just for themselves, why do they insist on displaying them to all and sundry?

To me, its shows his lack of judgement, not an exercise of his personal freedom.

///"no blacks, no Irish, no dogs" That was based on pure, unadulterated racism///

Dogs are now a Race? I've read it all now.
The Irish aren't either.
You know the meaning, Baldric!!!
If I needed to use a property management company and I found the owner had changed his name to 'King of InkLand-Body Art' with full face and neck tattoos I would walk straight out. I think a large % of others would do the same.
Question Author
Eddie....good point....this chap, whatever his name is, has zero credibility, although I am that is our fault, not his !
Mikey - why are you so judgmental?
I put a thread on here some years ago (under a different user name) about threatening to kick out my son if he had a tattoo for his 21st birthday. I took some right flak from some of the self - righteous mob. However, a couple of years later he thanked me for my stance and he's still a tattoo free zone :-)
...as far as you know ;o))
Question Author
Ummm.......its my opinion that to have this huge amount of disfigurement, due to self-inflicted by tattoos is ill-judged, and I am not the only person on here today to think the same.

...why don't you ask everybody else, instead of just me ?
He does look quite alarming, and I'd be put off using any business he worked for. I think tattoos can look amazing, but his really doesn't IMHO.
I asked you, Mikey, because it's your question and it's you calling it a disfigurement. He clearly doesn't see it that way!

Personally I don't like tattoos and like Melv I've made my feelings about them quite clear to my son....but I wouldn't be so judgmental as you.
Question Author
JO...congratulations for realising the the King isn't wearing any New Clothes today !
Question Author
Ummm...well, I have made it clear that I think he is ill-judged.

Sorry I can't be more accommodating !

I will have commented on your thread, but I don't believe that makes me part of the 'self-righteous mob'.

I have three grown-up children, and if any of them had decided to have a tattoo, I would have been worried, only that they went to a registered and regulated tattooist, and that they didn't regret it later.

But if they did - that is their decision. I would not dream of being such a fascist as to dictate anyone's body adornment as a condition of living in my house, and certainly not my children.

Part of being an adult is making decisions you have to live with, part of being a parent is teaching your children that concept.

It is not then for you to sanction them because you disapprove of how they treat their bodies - they are adults and have a right to behave, and be treated as such, and that includes respect and minding your own business!
I hate tatoos and still feel very sad about Stalking Cat who appears to have committed suicide; possible because he could Not go back on what he had done to his face.

@quidproquo at your posting 14:07 ....if you don't like my trousers or any other part of my dress, then YES insist I don't display them for all to see....BUT ONLY if I am in your employ!!! The gent concerned was in employment not in a social situation which is an entirely different thing and his choice to display or not. If I wasn't in your employ then maybe I would tell you to get stuffed...or whatever choice of phrase might be handy at the time.

AH. Thanks for your reply.
Well, it's not every day I get to be called a fascist on AB, especially in a judgmental, sanctimonious and know it all manner.
I'll be coming to you for walking on water lessons....
An adult has rights to chose. Both whether to mar their appearance by inking their skin, and also to opt not to show tacit approval for such by allowing offspring to remain in the house in that state. So that's fair then.
