Well he may be pathetic but you've got to admire a man who definitely doesn't mince his words.

OG, he went to the butcher's shop first
Why does the report not say this was the Sunday opening time.

Lidl, as most other stores, would like to open at 10am or earlier on Sunday, but the law will not allow them to. They are restricted to 6 hours of opening on sunday.

This man is suing the wrong people. He should instead be persuing the church who are the main culprit for messing up times that shops can and cannot open.
Yes.I think it must have been a Sunday as that store seems to open at 7am on other days. Anyway- should have done Lidl first then the butchers since on a hot day it wouldn't have been a good idea to leave meat in the car while he did his Lidl shopping. What's wrong with Lidl mince anyway. (Isn't Lidl Miince a group?)
Trust you to spoil the joke Tilly :-p :-)
"Lidl, as most other stores, would like to open at 10am or earlier on Sunday, but the law will not allow them to. They are restricted to 6 hours of opening on sunday. "

That depends on the size of the store Groms. Under a certain size they can open and even sell alcohol as they do during a 'normal' working day, as does where I work.
But yes, in answer to sp's question, he is or at least one of.
> Mr Benson says he was forced to wait in his car for an hour in temperatures of 25C before Lidl eventually opened and he could do his shopping.

I have some sympathy for the inconvenience he experienced but nobody forced him to wait in his car for an hour. What if he received an urgent phone call to return home? I doubt he would have thought twice about waiting.

I've no sympathy whatsoever- talk about first world problems! The guy's a twonk and should think himself lucky if that's all he's got to worry about.

If it were me, I would be annoyed (especially as their website states they open at 10am), but would've gotten in my car, driven off and later complained to the store.

He got vouchers, so I'm assuming he's not out of pocket.

And does meat really spoil that quickly??!
As advised - the gentleman was not 'forced' to do anything, including sitting in his car letting his mince spoil, as he chose to do.

The notion of a suing a shop for not being open when he could have done a number of things - including taking the meat home, means that he is deluded by his own self-importance.

I would like to be there to hear the judge throw it out of court, and doubtless admonish this person for wasting court time.
Personally I think he is a Silly Ass. Surely no Court is going to give take this seriously ?
Stupid old fart, he could have gone to the butchers after.
Was it a Sunday? No butchers round my way open on a Sunday let alone before 10am on Sunday.

Me thinks he is a self satisfied sanctimonious twanker with too much time on his hands.

God save us from pathetic ***.

BA for Cassa imo lol
Yes, he's going to need all the luck in the world at court. You could say 'Best of British!!'
A nasty thing to say but If this goes to court & the cost comes to hundreds, I hope the sill sod looses, this place is getting like the USA, If you fart in the wrong place you may get sued.
I'd be interested to know how much he spent and saved by shopping at lidl. Surely for one week he could have gone to another supermarket.
Yes, he's pathetic and I agree with B00, if that's his biggest problem he's a lucky man.
Hes an estate agent...says it all, a crafty lying b'stard if ever there was...
Every time I come back to this thread, I look at my calendar to see it I have the date right today, and it isn't really April 1st.

I hope any Judge would kick this out of Court and charge this twit with wasting valuable time and money.
