Romantic Getaway to Crete

Explore Agios Nikolaos:

Located on the Island of Crete, Agios Nikolaos overlooks the calm, blue waters of Mirabello Bay and is the largest holiday resort in Crete. Although there are no monuments of major importance it easily compensates with its breathtaking location, lovely hotels and charming atmosphere- Providing the perfect place for a romantic rendezvous.

Agios Nikolaos boasts several beaches, that might be small in size but they are situated close to the centre and have been said to be the best in Kitriplatia, with a five minute walk south to Lake Voulismeni and Ammoudi for a romantic stroll under the sizzling sun. However, the best sun bathing option is Almiros Beach, in front of the three-star Almiros Beach Hotel. This long, sandy beach lies in a sheltered bay, and has sun beds and umbrellas for hire, a snack bar, beach volleyball and water sports facilities. Alternatively, regular taxi boats depart from Agios Nikolaos harbour, transporting bathers to numerous beaches in small coves along the coast, some of which can only be accessed from the water.

Explore Elounda:

If you’re looking for a romantic trip of luxury then you should explore the island of Elounda. This Greek island possesses the country’s highest quantity of exclusive, modern, stylish five-star  hotels, which sets it apart from the glamorous see-and be-seen resorts on Mykonos and Santorini, by boasting discretion and privacy, ideal for a holiday made for two.

Just 3 miles north of the coast from Schisma, the pretty fishing village of Plaka stands with its authentic seafood eateries- and is well worth a visit.
