I don't know about the next few months, but I think you are referring to news coverage on the findings of a new report just published by Mintel (a market research company) which predicts that the cost of travel insurance is set to soar over the next four years. It believes that the value of the travel insurance market will grow from �575 million in 2002 to �898 million in 2006 - as a direct result of a rise in insurance premiums.

A. It is believed that insurance premiums are set to rise as a result of September 11 and the effect it has had on the travel industry - already many travel insurance companies have folded, and as a result of this there is less competition in the market, and a highly competitive marketplace is what has been keeping insurance premiums low for so long.

A. According to the Mintel report, 18 million holidaymakers buy travel insurance - but they usually don’t shop around for the best deal, 34% prefer to buy their insurance at the same time as purchasing their holiday even though travel agents charge higher premiums.
