A holiday to Lithuania could include a visit to one of the country's most important music events, as well as offering natural treasures such as fantastic forests, luscious lakes and amazing architecture.

Introducing Lithuania:

Rebellious, quirky and vibrant, clearly Lithuania has much to offer. The capital city, Vilnius is a cobbled old town with a lively art scene that will charm its visitors. While in the city there are many museums and galleries to see a bit of Lithuanian culture.

Other places to consider are: Gediminas Castle, Vilnius Cathedral, European Park and Hill of the Three Crosses, each providing its own unique characteristics, typical of Lithuanian culture.

Overlooking the city from a central hill is the landmark Gediminas Castle. Gediminas Square is the heart of Lithuania, featuring the splendid classical cathedral. The city boasts numerous other fascinating churches, beautiful historic buildings, museums, monuments and parks.

Tourist Attractions:

Lithuania has many attractions for tourists as mentioned above but a specific event is The Street Musician Day, which will unite everybody who speaks the world’s most universal language...music.

The music event marks the thousandth year since Lithuania’s name was mentioned in a historical document and will be held in Vilnius, which is one of the European Capital of Culture Projects. Just one of the attractions Vilnius has for visitors.

Last year's carnival saw over 3,000 people perform in the capital city and 31 other towns, including professional and amateur dancers and musicians who will play in the streets and squares of the city, playing rock, jazz and avant-garde tunes. The organisers of the event have said all can participate and anyone able to produce any sound or even noise should come.  Therefore visitors can join in and enjoy the festivities and celebrations.

Things to do in Lithuania:

There are many activities to partake in if you’re looking for a more adventurous holiday for example: day trips & excursions, cultural & theme tours, cruises, sailing and water tours, food, wine and nightlife tours.

Other attractions for the tourist in Lithuania are constituted from the historical elements of the country, from the natural landscapes to the archaeological areas, adding to the diverse landscape and 99kn coastline with stunning sandy beaches.

People interested in Lithuania’s character and beauty, and everything it has to offer could also look into breaks that include windsurfing, which can be enjoyed in on one of the country's beautiful lakes, which is just one of the many appealing characteristics of the country.
