Hong Kong national coming to UK then flying to Scotland

Hi guys,

My friend from Hong Kong is coming to visit me in the UK, she's a Hong Kong national and holds a Hong Kong passport, she doesn't need a Visa to fly here. I'm planning to take her to Scotland and we're planning to go there by plane. I was wondering, could she still fly to Scotland with her Hong Kong passport?

Since Scotland is part of the UK the 'authorities' (e.g. the UK Border Agency) have no interest whatsoever in anyone's movement between England and Scotland. It's no different taking a plane between London and Edinburgh than taking a bus between Brighton and Hove, or a train between Swindon and Reading. No passport or ID is required.

Airlines require ID for security purposes but all airlines accept a valid passport, irrespective of the issuing country. So your friend will have no problem flying to Scotland from England (or from any other part of the UK).

Hi Chris,

I wonder if you can help me out with this question too, I know previously you have and I am very grateful.

I'm also planning to take her to Paris via Euro Star, (if she was to travel to France from Hong Kong she wouldn't need a Visa), so would she need a Visa to go to France from the UK via Euro Star?
