I have no idea at all how or why it has appeared but I have a small, what looks like a brightness banner, appear at the bottom centre of my screen. It does not respond to right or left clicks and I'm unable to get rid of it. I've tried a re-boot but it's still there, it remains on top of every window I try.

I would be delighted if someone is able to help me get rid of it.

Try pressing F5. Or using a mouse right click on an inert part of your screen and in the drop down banner choose refresh.

If you're using a desktop PC, with a separate monitor, it seems likely that you've pressed one of the buttons on the monitor (rather than doing anything on your PC).

Either investigate the buttons on your monitor or, simpler, just try turning it off and then on again.

I'm using an all in one PC Buenchico and I've ony toched the on/off button.

oops - "only"

There is a brightness symbol on the left (bit like a sunshine, little circle with dots around) and an adjustment scale to the right of it. A left click on the adjustment scale dims the screen but it quickly brightens back to normal.

Try pressing F5. Or using a mouse right click on an inert part of your screen and in the drop down banner choose refresh.

Absolutely brilliant Togo. Many thanks.

Nice one 1581960. I assumed that you were using w11 with it being an all in one. It is a bit of a glitch  happens(particularly with some games) that leaves the ghost control still visible. If it happens again you will know which(if any) game it was and know how to erase it.
