Not as far as I remember (haven`t been there lately) The thing with Cape Town is that you can get some really grey and oppressive clouds that cover the mountains but the next day the sky can be blue and the weather glorious.
and that is at any time of the year

Does the rain keep the heat down?
I can`t remember but Cape Town is not really uncomfortably hot as far as I remember
I used to go horse riding a lot in Jo`burg and that could be a bit uncomfortable due to the altitude but I don`t remember being uncomfortably hot in Cape Town

I suppose the sea breeze helps, 237?
There isn`t really a breeze such as you get in places like the Caribbean but it`s not oppressively hot.

We are looking at a January holiday in CT which includes a cruise around the bottom end of Africa, up to Mozambique.

I am just asking about the rainfall and the heat at this time of the year. Is it a good time to go?
I was in Cape Town at the end of December once. We got back to the UK on christmas day. The temp in Somerset West was 32 degs but it wasn`t humid
Go for it. The place is lovely

Thank you, 237.

Have you experienced the January rain? Is it hot rain or is it cold and miserable?
To be honest, I can`t remember any rain in Cape Town. Maybe that`s because I have been there a lot so all of the trips blend into one.
pretty much the warmest and driest month

You will have the best fillet steak that you have ever eaten in SA (not to mention the best wines that they keep for themselves rather than exporting it)
just remember to specify what animal...
?
what animal your steak comes from
Usually a cow.
A quick glance at the menu tends to do the trick
