Hi Are there any Beaches near Liverpool and can you swim safely in the sea please.? Also how long does it take to get there by bus from Liverpool centre if you don't have a car.? Thanks.

There's a small beach at West Kirby, which is 34 minutes by train from Liverpool Central station. Southport 48 mins from Liverpool? The beach is about 48 mins from the sea, Chris :-) Anytime i've been there the tide is out and you have to walk for miles to get yer feet wet.
anytime i have EVER driven past any beaches in that area, you cn't even see the sea. The tide can't have been out every time can it?
