I would suggest that if there were a written in stone, definitely definitive, correct, accurate, precise, truly fool-proof way of solving this there wouldn't be over a hundred (that's 5x4+3x30-10) answers:)

depends whether that's meant to be taken one figure at a time or if some of them are separate little sums like 7 + (7 x 7)
56 isn't it?
0
7 + 1 + 49 - 7

I got zero.
BODMAS. Do the multiplication and division before addition and subtraction.
yup
ah

(7+7) ÷ (7+7) x (7-7)

14 ÷ 14 x 0 = 0
44

56
But if you don't do things in the right order you'd go downstairs before you went up.
7 + 1 (7/7) is 8. 8 +49 (7 x 7) is 57. 57 - 7 is 50.

7 + 7 = 14
14 / 7 = 2
2 +7 = 9
9 x 7 = 63
63 - 7 = 56
Well if you had typed that in the first place...

As your OP stands, without brackets then my answer is correct.
so that would be 7 + 1 [which is 7 divided by 7] plus 49 [7 times 7] - 7

which = 50, as Jackdaw says.
Have any of you even heard of BODMAS?
Question Author
That's how it was asked, the same as my OP. I put the brackets in.
