I added an answer to a thread of my own. It showed up on the thread and on 'my answers' but isn't/wont come up on the board, as it were. Perhaps it was considered too boring for the general public.

funny, the posts aren't being zapped and they're showing up to me. Its just no-one else can see them. I expect I'm going mad, lol.

I've just seen the 'Gas' post you refer to. The reason it doesn't appear in latest posts is because after 30 days they don't unless you renew it. One of Ed's rules I'm afraid.
