Hi
Over the last couple of days I have had a "pop up" appearing at the bottom of my screen every time I go onto the Internet. The only name I can see is APPROUND.NET Does any body know how I can get rid of this please - it's driving me bonkers !! Many thanks.

Sorry, fbg, but its a virus - again, see here.. http://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/article/2012/8/14/malicious-website-www-appround-biz-pc-performer-softwares-contains-viruses/ Time to dig out your Malwarebytes and run a full scan, then check again!

Go to control panel and see if you can uninstall it.
The process may depend on which browser you use, but I suggest that if you go into your browser settings you may see that this has been added as the default search engine or one of the sites/toolbars to open automatically- if so, you need to remove that entry. See if that works
If you also look in Control Panel add and remove programs it may appear there

I'm with Nibble.

Running the free version of Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware should fix it:

I might be being thick here but what is the difference between Malwarebytes and something like MSE?
Ummmm:
Anti-virus programs, such as MSE, seek to identify malicious software by looking for 'signatures' which are compared to a known database. Sometimes malware gets past them because there's no 'signature'. Malwarebytes digs into your system to try to find irregularities after they've been added to the registry.
Cheers. I do have both but I didn't know why :-)

Many thanks for such prompt replies. Nibble and Buenchico, you were right. I installed Malwarebytes, ran a scan, "cleared out" and all seems ok now. Again, many thanks.
