How can I find out which version of IE I am using?

If you have XP as your OS you should be using IE8 ,if you have Vista or Windows 7 you should be using IE9 ,if Microsoft detects that you are not using the right upgraded version for your OS then you will recieve an update in your automatic updates prompting you to install the correct one. This is a security issue and Microsoft are concerned for your welfare.
