It's about uploading a sound-clip from a cell-phone to Facebook, beyond that I have no idea.

Er????? You've lost me there!!

VLC media player plays audio or video files from your computer (or which you've downloaded as streaming media). It has nothing to do with being "able to post as a status". (At least I don't think that it has but, since that phrase is totally meaningless to me anyway, I'm not entirely sure!).

Further 'clip' usually refers to a video file but MP3 is an audio file format, so I'm getting even more confused!

If you're trying to embed a video file into a web page (perhaps on a social networking site?) you have to upload it to somewhere like Youtube or DailyMotion first, and then provide the appropriate URL (possibly with the embed code) to the site where you want it to appear.

If you're trying to do the same thing with an MP3 file, you'll have to create a video (with just a single static picture) and then upload that in the same way. (Neither of those things have anything to do with VLC).

I'm sorry that this post has been rather vague but I feel that we'll need a clearer explanation of what it is that you're trying to do before we can provide precise instructions.

Is this to do with network streaming? (Which VLC can do)

Try looking for windows movie maker on your computer, you've probably already got it installed.
