I have recently acquired an Apple Macintosh G4 AGP Digital Audio mac, the thing is i have tried getting it to fire up and nothing shows on monitor, i am using vga to vga ...... it does have a DVI port just by the VGA, is this my problem? ..... do i need a DVI connector, the DVI and VGA are both on the same card, help would be greatly welcome , thanks

No Cassa. That is a DVI to VGA adaptor. You need an ADC to VGA adaptor. These came with the G4 when new. This should do the job:

The DVI port is actually an ADC port. This is the connector I used on my old G4. You can get an ADC to VGA converter, Amazon has them listed. You should be able to go directly VGA to VGA but as this isn't the standard setup you would need to change system preferences. Tricky if you don't have a display screen
