Laptop tries to Boot Up

Acer 5735 Laptop Tries To Boot Up But Only Boots For 5 Seconds Then Returns To Start Of Boot. It Will Keep Doing This Until It Is Unplugged.

Then try safe mode and set up a 'clean' boot?
Before you do it, unplug all USB devices.

It won't go as far as allowing access to safe mode. It is using Windows Vista

You'll have to explain things a bit better .. and more thoroughly.
How far DOES it get? Blank screen?
Can you boot to BIOS?

.. and if you can .. can it see the Windows/Main Drive?
If you can get to BIOS .. make sure BOOT DEVICE ORDER is set to CD/DVD Rom as No 1, and try a recovery or boot disk.

It doesn't get as far as BIOS. I've tried removing all power, holding down start button for 30 seconds then connecting the lead and pressing the start button but that hasn't worked.

If you are correct and know what you are saying, then I'm afraid it's probably dead!

Can you get it to boot from a CD, the recovery disk for example (don't do a recovery yet though)

Is the system speaker switched on .. do you remember?
No warning pips then?
Hardware failure it is then. Graphics card .. maybe .. Motherboard maybe. If you can't get to bios .. youre screwed really.
