does the TV have a matching VGA socket?

If so you just need a standard vga monitor lead (and the correct lead for the audio too)
use you s video socket, you get video on tv but no sound, also you will need 2 go to control panel, open display icon, goto settings, then right click on the smaller tv icon and attach, this will exstend you desktop onto tv,then open film minimize film then drag player from monitor onto tv,my tv uses scrart channel S3,s video leads r cheap but take care when connecting as plug pins r delicate, this works fine for me as i use pc speakers for sound,i find VGA leads bit chunky and s video leads r easy to hide, yor choice really
