First, I've finally remembered the password to my Government Gateway account, which enabled me to get hold of the username to go with it. I've therefore been able to submit my tax return with just one day to spare (before the automatic £100 fine cut in). So that accounts for the first bottle of Courage Director's now on my desk.

I had my tax return figures ready before Christmas but I couldn't find my log-in details to submit them. I knew that they were on a piece of paper which used to be on my pinboard but which (after I'd tidied up) is now in an envelope labelled 'Unsorted from board'. However I've been getting more and more frantic all week looking for that damned envelope. (The cat thinks that I've gone mad, as I've been throwing stuff everywhere looking for it). It was only a wild (but fortunately correct) guess at my password that saved the day!
