Rats are intelligent animals and tend to make good pets. Is there not another analogy that you could use?
All very well and good mikey ... but you are still relying on schadenfreude to brighten up your life.
Well he might be a deserter, but he's certainly a well fed one!
And here was me thinking that mikey was on about the Labour party.
Probably preferable to the alternative that the labour party have: a ship full of rats and rodents.
aog wins the prize as the first to try to turn a post about the Tories into a post about Labour. ymb half an hour late on that one, limping past the chequered flag with a flat tyre.
And then there's Carswell who they are trying to push off the ship, but the blighter won't leave.
jno, the reason for it is that labour supporters like you and Mickey are happy to slate UKIP when there is mayhem in your own party that you seem to pretend is not there.

So it is very relevant.
^ Good point !
jno is not a Labour supporter.
you imagine that because I think Ukip are a bunch of charlatans I must be a Labour voter, ymb? You live in a real us-against-them world.
jno

/// aog wins the prize as the first to try to turn a post about the Tories into a post about Labour. ///

You are completely wrong, the post is about UKIP.
jno

More like a 'sit on the fence' voter.
does voting for the best candidate mean "sitting on the fence"? I call it doing my democratic duty. The only Labour one in recent times was Sadiq Khan.
My apologies then jno, just from your post I got the impression you were. Perhaps you should seriously consider your voting pattern as your rhetoric on here does not seem to match what you now say.

Unless of course you simply come on here to wind people up?
when I vote in a general election it's for the best candidate in my constituency; I don't bother to discuss this on AB because the chances of anyone more than a mile away knowing who he/she is are minimal.

Of course, some will see anyone who disagrees with them as "winding them up", so baffled are they by the notion that a sentient human wouldn't share their views completely.
You might at least give them their proper name. In Wales they are not Tories, they are Y Ceidwadwyr Cymreig.
mikey; I keep asking you why you are so obsessed with the events of the tiny UKIP party, but never get an answer. Is it because you are too embarrassed and want to deflect attention from the appalling state of your Labour Party?

Isn't it inevitable that UKIP will start to disintegrate? They are, primarily, a single-issue pressure group, and once we actually leave the EU their whole reason for existance will have evaporated. They can use the time between now and then to try to re-invent themselves as a genuine political party but will , I believe, struggle and eventually fall apart. UKIP was established to pressure for a referendum on leaving the EU - as a single issue this will have attracted people of all political stripes, all wanting to say goodbye to Europe. It will be much more difficult, impossible maybe, to align all these people when they start talking about housing benefits, the NHS, defence spending etc etc. I can see people returning to their more traditional voting patterns and UKIP going the way of the SDP.
Mothman

Fair enough then if you, mikey and others are right about UKIP, then you all have nothing to worry about.

So why are they forever in your minds?
