Can anyone tell me how you find out your pin number that you need to use to watch Sky TV for certain sports or films? MrAsk says you have to pay but I'm not sure.

From what I remember you are given it as part of the viewing card literature. I know you can change it to one of your choice and it's free.

You don't pay for a PIN. Your PIN is usually set by default to the last 4 digits of your viewing card number. You don't need a PIN for sports channels, but you will need to subscribe separately if you want to watch channels such as ESPN or Premier Sports.

Oh dear. But loads of films etc come up requiring a pin before 9pm. Have you just not watched them? I wondered if it was on the card but just checked and it's not ;-(

They altered the design of the viewing card and I don't think that the number is printed on it anymore (I stand to be corrected on this). I know the PIN number for mine, but we have three boxes and can't remember the numbers for the other two cards though.

We had this problem. When I spoke to Sky, they said that you need a pin number for certain films because they may be unsuitable for young children to watch. Sky can tell you your pin number over the phone if you answer their security questions. It is free. You can then, if you wish, choose to change it to one you can remember. We don't have the sports, so can't advise on that one. Contact them on their customer services phone number. Use your Sky button to find it.

Thank you all for your help. I have finally got us a PIN number. It has taken ages to register on to Sky and suss out my account details. I've got to admit I've missed loads of films because we didn't think of asking how to find it. We don't have a viewing card as such and I can't find my Sky paperwork at the mo. Thank you.
