What an exciting day we have in store. Be up early in the morning to cheer home the Men's Curling team, and the DO NOT MISS event of the day is Elsie Christie in the 1000m short track speed skating heats.

If there is any justice in the world she will sail through these heats and go on to win a medal. She deserves a whole week's worth of good fortune after here previous disqualifications on the ice.

The afternoon see Team GB members in both the Women's bobsleigh and in the men's halfpipe. Two fantastic events. Have a great day all and see you in the morning.

Any sign of JJ back from her weekend?

We've had some pretty bad luck. Zoe getting pipped in the snowboarding. Elise missing the line in the short track. Me listening to the coverage on Swiss TV and not understanding what the commentator was saying. Anyway, Elise in the 1,000m? Go for it, girl! And if there's anyone alive who can hold their nerve to beat Canada in the Curling, it's Eve Muirhead.

The curlers (?) seem a bit off their game - both the men & the women are only anywhere near qualifying because of errors by other teams.

I think/hope the men can beat Norway tomorrow, but I fear that Canada will stuff the women in the semis.

Mmmm, the girls did win fair and square this morning. They didn't need to beat Denmark this afternoon because of other teams mistakes, but they did get through in their own merit. Nevertheless, as you say, they have massive challenges ahead. At least they have gained in confidence as the week has gone on and i feel quietly optimistic.

The men on the other hand are living very dangerously. Norway seem to be a much more confident team and we should never have lost to china.

The skiing was fab, so we stayed away for an extra sneaky night, and I came home last night.

I'm loving maydup's posts. Perhaps maydup, could you carry on posting the Winter Games threads? You're so good at them.

Wow and Wow and WOW !!!

That was brilliant. What a finish, winning on the very last stone with that shot.

Well done, the Men's Curling team.

Flippin flippin fantastic the men's Curlers. We knew you could do it!

Over to you JJ. If you want a job doing ask a busy person; I've enjoyed it and thanks for the compliment, but happy to hand it back to you for the last few days!

Off to work now and thankfully I'm not at my usual place which will help me to avoid news of Elsie's result. That way I can watch the recording when i get home.
Goooooo Elsie.

Sorry JJ, I forget to say Welcome Home and pleased you had a super g time!
Thanks, maydup. It was jolly. x
I love the Giant Slalom, but it makes me want to be skiing again.

It's going to take some run to beat Tina Maze.
Hmm ... one could be tempted ...

I was just looking at the on line TV listing to plan this afternoons Olympics viewing. At 3:45 they have written "action from the first run of the women's two man bobsleigh" It's going to be a bit crowded in there isn't it?
Not a bad day, today.

The boys won their play off against Norway. If you were watching it live this morning ... it just goes to show, Curling can be really exciting. That very last stone to win the match was just brilliant.

After all her bad luck, Elise Christie was sublime and superb in her Short Track 1,000m heat. Racing from a safe position at the back ("safe" as in ... not giving the bloody judges any excuse to stitch her up again!) she overtook the pack and won by over two seconds. Two seconds in Short Track is a huuuuuuuge! margin. If you haven't seen it, I will post the link to the BBC page with the video. It's like she was in a separate race. She ... whupped ... their ... butts !!!

Out on the piste, Tina Maze was in blistering form. In Run 1 she was fastest after her run, and I said then that it would take some run to beat her. And no one did. And she was fastest again in Run 2. She's an awesome skier.

In the next window I will post that Elise Christie clip ...
There is a bit of a talking point with the skiing.

It sometimes happens, when you have a competition in which a particular megastar is not taking part.

All he competitors move up a place because of one missing entrant.

Like if they had a "jolliest town" competition, and Brighton didn't take part.

So ... will this be the Olympics in which other people won skiing Gold because Lindsey Vonn wasn't there?

Just a thought.

Another fantastic day at the Games, it couldn't have been more exciting what with the curling and that amaaaaaazing performance by Elise in the speed skating.

I enjoyed the boys half pipe too, tough conditions, and the skiing which was superb. Oh and the womens two man bob, as vulcan says, it was crowded in there. What fun that a mixed double would be!
Good to see you back, before I nod off, maydup x
