Worryingly Good

I was very impressed with the Germans tonight, especially their response to the Greek equalising goal. If England can beat Italy, and it is a reasonably big "if", then they should be very worried indeed.

I know England fans won't thank me for that, and I wish England no ill at all, but the Germans really are the epitomy of a side that knows how to play tournament football. Getting them at 7-2 seems generous now.

I agree Duncer...........the Germans look alarmingly efficient and probably have a beach towel on the trophy.

They still have Spain to contend with, although I also had France as outsiders so I'm a wee bit undecided on that one, but leaning ever so slightly towards the Spanish.
Most times I would expect Spain to beat France. This time France are playing very well and I don't think Spain are at their best. Most of the Real M and Barca players must be totally knackered after the season they have had.
I don't think a Spain win is inevitable.

I agree, that's why I only slightly favour Spain. France are a young hungry side with a lot to prove, and the World Cup players who so poisoned the side are gone.
I don't think you'll find many England fans who expect to beat Italy let alone beat the Germans.
If we do get through we'll get whipped like we did in the World Cup!

Take no notice of our media they always hype up our chances..We've got a very mediocre set of players.
shouldn´t you shouting "come on woys boys"
typo, be shouting

mightyWBA, if England truly are mediocre then that is a damning indictment of European football because, Spain and Germany aside, who truly looks to be a class above England so far? France have potential, yes, but that is all it is at the minute, while Portugal are on England's level, even if Ronaldo might just tip the scales.

England are no world beaters but they are effective, even if the sides they have beaten so far are workmanlike at best. I reckon the Italy game will be very close indeed, probably 1-0 either way or penalities.

I think Roy has proven the critics wrong (Including myself) with his man management skills and thus far has done a good Job, I'm only quietly confident about getting past the Italians with a bit of Luck and a game plan we might do just it.

The Germans are a whole different ball game (If we get there) I too have being watching them and they always do well in tournament football, their commitment is second to non, passing only surpassed by Spain and they know how to score goals. With no disrespect to them Greece are not one of best teams in the competition but managed a goal and more importantly scored a penalty. The Germans are not infallible.
It's always nice to watch this
