No one needs any hate specific laws. The whole concept is ridiculous. We don't have thought police, so everyone is free to hate if they so wish. Meanwhile it is actions that need to be legislated for, or against. And the victim of some action should not be treated better or worse than another victim, neither should their assailant, simply because of why someone...

Back to the topic, and to summarise:

You can get stabbed in the eye for saying, or writing, something which someone perceives as being 'Islamophobia', but the Islamists don't think the laws go far enough.  🙄

I haven't read all of that - it makes me sick - but I wonder if it ever occurs to those who defend Islam that the people who think that is acceptable are not confined to Arabia and Pakistan - a good number of them are here.

How long before the first UK stoning? Or has it been going on secretly anyway.....?

Why are we allowing Sharia "courts"?

We don't have thought police, so everyone is free to hate if they so wish.

chrissakes, it is what goes wivda action - but  we always really knew that didnt we?

so that 'free Gaza' is not hate - but kicking a policeman ( in itself is very bad) and shouting free Gaza is worse.

Why are we allowing Sharia "courts"?

o god try reading the article

'they have no power or standing in this country' but that doesnt stop AB? oh no....

Naomi24, some great post from you on here, especially the 13:13 Tue 05th Mar 2024, from you.

Peter Pedant, but they wield enormous influence in their communities including granting or refusing divorce to couples married in religious ceremonies - which aren't recognised as legal in this country.  They usually tell women to go home and behave themselves so not that helpful.  Now before you put other people here down again go away and educate yourself.  You might know what you're talking about then.

Thank you, Pegasus.  Much appreciated.

I love your posts Naomi - I  find them so educational and er knowledgeable

They usually tell women to go home and behave themselves so not that helpful.

have you been in a lot then, or have you just heard this

and if there is money involved ( like in a lot of divorces ) what then? - it is off to the high court where the wife starts off at 50%.

unlike your's PP - which are a load of ***!

rhymes with rowlocks

This was a good debating thread then PP comes along and it's full BS and derailed. Come on mods sort it out.

thank you dave, I treasure these baubles and read them out to myself when down

TTT er I think Naomi IS a mod -

as for Talaq divorce I wd put the standard of knowledge here as low

Here is a good summary of talaq meets the country court

https://www.roythorne.co.uk/site/blog/family-law-blog/what-is-a-talaq-divorce-and-is-it-recognised-in-the-uk

Peter Pedant, Money or not, marriages conducted in Islamic religious ceremonies cannot be dissolved by the british courts for the simple reason that they are not legally recognised.    Now please stop disrupting the thread.

have you ever thought about why the west doesn't suffer from 'Hindu-phobia' or 'Buddhist-phobia' - and what it is about Islam that makes it different from the rest?

so if there isnt a phobia then it is OK?

well spiders and roman catholics dont do very well do they ?

I  looked this up as it as referred as a shining gem of AB wisdom

It's very clear that many people equate Islam, the Koran, Islamist, Muslims, and Hamas as one homogeneous lump, rather than the curate's egg that it is.
