Chelsea Fans On The Paris Metro.

Apparently the incident caught on 'social media' wasn't, as some thought, a racist incident. The train was too full and the 'pusher' was actually doing the Frenchman a favour in not letting him board where he would have suffered buffeting and jostling.
That's the account of the NI Chelsea supporter, anyway.
Was it all just a storm in a teacup?

"Good evening Mr Commuter. I appreciate that this is a train you catch regularly, and this is your city, and indeed your country, in which I am a temporary guest.
I have taken it upon myself to make a decision for you about the suitability of boarding this carriage - to wit, it is somewhat too full for you to board, and I am concerned about your health and safety.
Unfortunately I am not a fluent French speaker, so I am unable to convey my message of care and concern verbally, so I am obliged to do so physically, by preventing you from entering the carriage of your choice, even though the other carriages are full, and as a commuter, you will be perfectly used to squashing in for a couple of stops until the carriages empty a little.
Obviously my well-meaning push has not been understood, and you have again attempted to join the train, against my better judgement, so I feel the need to give you a hard shove to underline my care and concern for your welfare, and my colleagues, similarly concerned citizens and guests of your city and country, feel the need to move forward with angry faces, chanting racist slogans.
I would not of course with you to interpret these actions and chanting as being in any way threatening, or linked to your ethnicity - indeed, how could you come to such a conclusion when our concern was only ever for your welfare and security.
I look forward to visiting your country and city again, and I am sure that the behaviour of myself and my colleagues has done much to cement international relations between our two nations.
Vive le difference!! (Whatever that means!).

Anyone wh has seen the video will know he is lying. Moments before, someone gets of the train so there has to be room for one more to get on. He actually gets on the train a couple of times, so there is space, they just don't want him there.
He claims he was just being helpful because there wasn't any room. Even if that were true (which it isn't) the manner in which he dealt with a member of the public fell well short of what you would expect from an ex-Policeman.

Mr Barklie said "People behind me were pushing and he was pushed back off."
Er no, Mr Barklie, people we pushing and YOU pushed him off - the two events are not connected. Being pushed from behind does not generate the reflex action of raising your hands and pushing someone else, and then pushing them again more violently and stepping into the space they were trying to occupy - that is intimidation, and threatening body language.
There is another phrase your should familiarise yourself with - in English will do fine - When you are in a hole, stop digging!

The World Human Rights Forum seem like an odd bunch. The England representative, Lady Mya Amarise from Chigwell featured in this Guardian 'story'.
// Last month (July 2013), Lady Amarise, from Chigwell, was crowned Miss British Beauty Curve after going up against shapely ladies from all over Britain.
“I couldn’t believe it when I won. That gave me the confidence that I needed when I was put forward for the next competition. I had to talk about myself, there were swimwear rounds and it was quite scary.
changed for the single mother from Tomswood Road.
She said: “Now I am working on opening a salon but I have been asked to go to pageants in Miami, all over the place.
“I have had people contact me from Japan. At the moment I am focusing on attending all of the pageants that I am asked to go to. //

once a cub always a cub ( never made it to Boy Scouts)
Interesting case in Brum in the nineties 86 cases were successfully appealed on the grounds of corruption in the serious crimes squad
[ some of them were pretty hilarious - an episode of crossroads had been taped over a police interview video ]
and it came up on appeal - if someone was fingered for corruption in 1989, does that mean any of his cases ( in this one 1985) cold also be appealed ?
( yes I would have thought, a look back at all this cases would be in order)
and their Lordships relieved themselves of a huge appeal burden by saying 'no' - no they said it was probably a one-off
I suppose you could say he was an ex policeman because he wasnt much good at it - I tended to the idea of 'jobs for the boys' The Great and Good must always have good jobs as expressed by Malcokm Rifkind
