mmm...there must be a lot of stuff like this around...sometimes the signtures are in fact printed on...
You never know! Is there a local auction house who could have a look, see what they think?
They could be 100% genuine but without provenance, its worthless.
So many are forgeries. I have a copy of the Who Live at Leeds signed by all four members, I was there when they signed but I cannot prove it so the album is worthless, less than really because its been scrawled on. |
Why not try frasers autographs? They authenticate if they are interested in (And i am sure they would be in the Beatles or the Who) .
They are in London but if you cant get there you can send a scan & if they are interested they will ask you to send the cover in & if they want it they will offer on it. See their web site for detailed instructions on what to do. Worth a go, nothing to loose. |

Thanks, I sent an email, why not. However after looking through some websites I still assume they are forged. Although the George and Paul names look similar to some in the websites, I did not see any that looked similar to the Ringo signature on my album.
Just in case there are any experts out there, here is a pic of autographs. http://tinypic.com/r/5cvtu/6 |

Question Author
Are there any takers out there, I'd like to know whether our not I need to bother going to work tomorrow lol.
All the names seem to have been written by the same hand. Pity, it might have been worth a few quid if they'd been genuine.
The hand they're written in looks at first sight to be a teenager writing in their "best" hand, and not anything remotely like the authenticated signatures such as http://www.beatlesautographs.net/

Question Author
I thought Paul and George had similarities.
Let us know how you get on. we're all wondering now!
some letters do look somewhat similar, such as the G's and the P and the R... but they are not the same, - things like angles, lengths, loop shape etc are what makes them by the same hand, not the overall shape - as they are very common.
also would they have only signed their first names? id have expected a full name at least although, if forged, surely theyd have added a john too... so that seems odd - like it coul dbe that the person only managed to get the other 3...john left early or something...? you may as well get it checked out - lets face it no-one here really knows so dont take our word for it... |

Question Author
I wouldn't sell it anyway I don't think. I never thought I'd find a Beatles record in a charity shop, always joked about it just.
What album is it?....Is it a first pressing?...If it is, the album itself may be worth a bit.

Question Author
The album is Please Please Me and I did look it up a few nights ago. Judging by what I read it was the second print, between the years 1963-1965. But it is not in great condition and I haven't actually tried playing it yet, although I intend to.
I also got other LPs on the same day, Bob Dylan Greatest Hits, Jethro Tull Stand Up, which has a cool pop-up cover, Status Quo-Tations, Led Zepplin's first album. Some really cool stuff. |

Question Author
I've just emailled images off so this time next week we could be millionaires, lol.

Early Beatles albums in Stereo are quite rare, signed or not, especially Please Please Me.

| On my recent birthday, I was given a gift of a framed copy of the Genesis album "The Lamb Lies down on Broadway" My friend told me that the interest lies in the fact that each framed lp disc is signed... |
