Can anybody tell me how i delete a Face book account

I take it it's your own account. You can de-activate by going into Account settings then Security then click on de-activate account. That means you can re-activate at some future date if you want.

I reactivated mine a couple of weeks ago, but had to wait 48 hours after my request to re-activate it.

My brother asked the same question just yesterday, de-activating your account is not deleting it, if you go into account settings on Facebook, go down to the 'Help' topic, in the little window type in something like what you have in OP, how to delete account, you will be asked to send request to fb, confirm you want to permanently delete account, a big warning in red print will come on your screen, then enter the catchpa letters, don't open the account within 14 days or your request will be ignored.
