on a fiver ?

In a local Sainsbury`s store it states "Feed your family on a fiver" what nonsense, especially after jacking up their prices, using the cost of fuel as a lever for their justification.

I would like them to feed my family for that amount, as they have different tastes in food.

What ARE you talking about? The price of goods has risen (and is still rising) in all supermarkets as a result of global wheat shortages.
Anyway, Sainsbury's have the "Feed your family for a fiver" cards around their stores and in them are all the ingredients are listed with the individual item price which add up to less than a fiver. So...they are not lying.

On the other hand, if your family doesnt like the food that Sainsbury's advertises then why not feed them pie, chips and baked beans? I reckon you could feed your family that for £2.50!

Depends on size of family?

Didn't somebody feed a multitude with 5 fishes?

I buy my fruit and veg from the market. It's cheaper than supermarkets and you know it's fresh. God knows how long supermarkets keep "fresh" produce in chilled warehouses before it hits the shelves. Local shops are going out of business because people insist on shopping in supermarkets.

Maybe you shouldn' t pamper to them and make them eat what you make! Or do some like ketchup with their Micro chips & chicken nuggets and some not??

You can do it for a lot less than a fiver, if you buy the ingredients from other stores ...!! We've had their bacon and courgette and pasta recipe, it's lovely and you can do it for much less if you shop around and get stuff from local shopkeepers, my greengrocer for instance sells courgettes for far less than Tesco or Asda. And instead of the recommended Sainsbury's bacon we used Asda Smart Price back bacon, about £1.04 for a pack. And as for "different tastes in food" - put your foot down!
