Model UE19H4000AW and the remote does not delete it
I've just gone I tom my bedroom and can see your problem.

Go into Menu. Scroll down to, System. Scroll right to, Subtitle. Scroll down to Subtitle and yours will say, "On." Go right and an on or off option will come up. Choose what you want, in your case, "off" and press the middle button, then exit.

I have tried that and when i goes into system there is no choice of subtitles
Hang on. I'll go and have another look. Back in a min.
When you press Menu, on mine, a black square comes up with, Picture, Sound, Channel, System. support. I scroll down to System and a blue square come see up up with, Setup, Time, Language. The further down is Subtitle. Press the "right" button and the same thing happens. Scroll down to subtitles and Bobs your Auntie.

You might have to scroll right or left for your settings but there,Will, be the ability to change it. Let me know.

my set was just delivered yesterday and must be slightly different to your one. When I tried to ask Samsung on their www. website I was expected to pay 20 pounds to the engineer if he solved the problem
Don't go into Tools, go into, Menu.

I have gone into Menu as I said in my earlier post and when i click on System it does not take me to a subtitle option and I have tried everything on System. The only way I can get a subtitle option is to use the tools button but although it will let me choose on or off, the subtitles remain on whatever I do.
Here is, hopefully a pic of my screen after pressing Menu.

That's not my head above the pic. It's an episode of Sherlock Holmes. Lol
This pic should show you my remote. You can see a button that says, "EManual"

Does yours have one? You could try that.

Chrissa thank you for all your help. I was unable to see your picture (I am hopeless with this Mac computer - iit has not even got a pound key) I was given it this week as a birthday present and I don't know how to view your tv screen. However my problem is solved. I found a number for samsung on their warranty slip and I have now deleted subtitles using he sky remote control which was done in an instant despite them being aded using the samsung remote

Chrissa you have been amazing for spending so much time trying to help me an old(ish) lady of 73. I assume you are a male and know all about these things?
No no. I'm a lady, and only 8 years younger than you. :)
