Cripes means anger annoyance or dismay

20. After much research into Waggledagger (Shakespeare) I offer 2 words used as interjections which may be relevant:

fie (interjection): For shame! Nonsense! (Used to express disagreement, annoyance, or mild disgust). Example: "Fie on't! ah fie! 'tis [the world is] an unweeded garden" (Hamlet, 1.2.139).
--------------------------------
pish (interjection): Exclamation of disgust, discontent, or impatience. Example:
BARDOLPH Good lieutenant! good corporal! offer nothing here.
NYM Pish!
PISTOL Pish for thee, Iceland dog! thou prick-eared cur of Iceland! (Henry V, 2.1.17-19).

The first one, fie, might lead us to FIELD, but I cannot account for the LD.
The second one contains references to ice, but I can't see any relevance. Maybe you can, emperor. I shall think on.

Thanks Frugalfred for your thoughts. Like you I have trawled the quotes of the bard as well as Blake and Wordsworth, but to no avail. At least with all your help we have answers for 99 ( I guessed at TEMPEST for 91- Minack anniversary etc. important down here in Cornwall). If any one has done better they deserve the chocolate!. When I eventually get the solution I'll let you know but meanwhile thank you for your kind assiastance.
Happy New Year
And a happy and healthy New Year to you, emperor. I've been thinking/researching all day, and have made no progress.
Could this be Just William who used to say Cripe or Cripes (which latter word includes ice) ?
Did you see the post where I suggested cyclone for the lands end one?

Thanks again Grasscarp. Cyclone was already 'used' in another answer and I had also wondered about the 'cripes' type of response but the answer is alleged to be weather realated, rather than a cryptic crossword clue. Guess we'll have to wait as I said to Frugalfred but thanks again for all your thoughts. I am naow waiting with baited breath for some earlier TOTP clips.!
