chewing on some crispy bacon, I lost one of my front teeth porcelain crowns and inadvertently swallowed it. B*&&"£!

I have an emergency appointment today but am a bit concerned that I have swallowed the tooth. It's not going to dissolve in my stomach acid. Will it get through ok?

Has that tooth done the business yet Tills? If so will you have a little plaque in the loo?

It might come back and bite you on the bum Tilly 😉

Meant to say, sorry about your tooth, you may need a bank loan to pay for it to be replaced.

Yes, it will pass through easily enough.  Listen out for a light chink

I'm not going to hunt for it, Barry.

I both my front teeth crowned 50 years ago after smashing my front teeth, falling from my bike.

50 years!

Vagus 🤣

I Hope it will all turn out well, Tilly..😃

All these things must come to pass, Tilly.

It would be reassuring to know it has been safely deposited though

Sorry, but I'm giggling.

Ì know an old lady who swallowed her crown

I dont know why she swallowed her crown

Perhaps she'll drown.

(By sticking her head down the loo searching for it)

I could try chewing a bick. That might help.

Brick!

So you won't be playing pooh sticks, tilly? 😁

Question Author

No, Melv. What's done, is done.

It'll pass through.

I did the same a few months ago, and have opted for an implant because it's at the front.

50 years  is excellent, Tilly, I don't think many of my real teeth have lasted that long.

Oh jno!!! Just have the lot taken out! It'll be safer!! And yes this will also "pass"!!

All these gummy ABers having to eat jelly from now on.

No digestive tract problems so far. I may be OK.

Today, I had an x-ray, the remaining stump ground down, a protective substance put on the remaining root and an impression taken. £70.

Tomorrow, I shall have a temporary one tooth denture fitted. £200.

Something tells me I ain't seen nothing  yet.

£306.80  for an NHS crown.  That's enough.    Thankfully mine are firmly anchored, fingers crossed
