Massive thunder storm around 6, on and off til about 8:30, raining heavily now, first proper rain in almost 3 months, that's Mid Norfolk

It's stopped now here in Hove. I first heard the pitter patter at 4.45am and was so pleased as we desperately needed rain down here. Didn't get back to sleep again but was quite happy listening to it pouring down.

Edit...we've had several good rainfalls here over the past few days. Grass is reverting back to green.
It was horribly humid here yesterday...far more bearable today.

Same here (just along the coast at Hayling). That is until about half an hour ago when I checked the water level in my water butt and discovered that last time I used it I had left the drain tap open as it ran dry, so all last night's rain just ran to waste (make me feel a bit like a certain Water Company LOL) grrrrrrr.

I've closed it now of course, but a bit like the stable door as the rain ihas stopped now.

Wow Wow Wow. My plants in the garden, particularly those in pots, and especially the Acers, have shot up this morning by about 20% since the rain came. Well that's what it looks like to me. Rain so much better than tap water.
