Your daughter might need to investigate the carbon foot print of nut growing farms and the ecological damage they cause and the labour conditions of the farms in far off lands.
I like the coconut milk - brand name Koko. No oil mentioned in the ingredients list, but double check via the link. Its light, not too strong, and milk rather than coconut drink. Available in local Co-op and all main supermarkets. Original or unsweetened. I prefer the latter.
You would use the subs because you have to. Personally if I went near any dairy produce, I get the headache from hell, followed by having to sleep for 12 hours or more.
Sorry for such a delayed response!
I prefer milk subs as I believe cattle are fed and injected with who-knows-what and ‘dairy’ generally I would avoid- though I do cave-in to a bit of cheddar...... I can’t take soya as it clashes with my thyroid.
If I can get more hemp seeds, I will try a ‘homemade’ milk from that!
Thank you for all your responses!!
Woofgang, thank you for the link to such a beautiful caring farm that seems to have love and compassion for their animals.
I was so impressed, that I’ve email them with a bit of praise and encouragement!
