Nailing
Burger
Nailing - n ( not originally) + ailing ( in trouble)
Burger - a German townsman, so unlikely to live in s palace.
Burger= grub (backwards) and ER= the Queen
Oh much better Tilly :-)
The brought up phrase made me look at burGER being Reg (Regina), palace resident), but could do nothing with the rest
Thank you Tilly, crossed posts but I was moving in the right direction.
I sometimes just don't see the blooming obvious.
Nailing - n(ot) + ailing (in trouble)
Burger- grub(food) reversed + er(Palace resident)

Thanks
I certainly did not .
Burgher with an h is the towns person.I think the reference was that the Queen would be unlikely to eat a burger.
