I'm probably becoming an old curmudgeon... but I hated the football theme in today's paper, tedious, (3,3). ?L?/?I?..

Agreed, it was tedious & unenjoyable, with one clue in particular being very weak IMO. There is a Nina however (although it's not true this time) - read down columns 1 & 15... http://www.crosswordunclued.com/2009/10/what-is-nina.html

Which clue?
More info please
...there's no answer that's (3,3) in 4702
Hot good, I agree.
Not good, sorry.
No answer?
No Danny, nothing that has that letter count.
Could it be 3,4- Old firm (Celtic & rangers)
Afraid not :(
OK.
I just thought it was a clue to how Meta felt about the crossword.

Sorry, Danny and Scorpio. I probably posted it in the wrong section. I've not done much of it yet. I was attempting satire or sardonic witticism. OLD GIT (3,3) I will attempt to finish it later this evening after my tea and biscuit at the hotel. It probably should have been posted in comments thread. I only got one answer myself. Bung, loads of money kicked back )(4)
Ah,Old Git possibly
Stop -pots reversed.
You got the date wrong as well Meta. Haha S??I??, M??e?t.

14d Pole with energy in former side of Rui Costa? (3,6)

Old (former) mast (pole) E(nergy) R(ui)

There's this one:

14 Pole with energy in former side of Rui Costa? (3,6)

...giving us: old (mast) + E + R...

...although never heard of either Costa.
Late to the party again. Slinks of shamefacedly.
