Looks like emptying out time for the Printworks (bars and eateries) which is just behind where the photo is taken, which is a side street, the shops in front are a side of the Arndale (shopping) Centre. It's a great photo, just a shame it doesn't show my home town in its best light, mind you, surely plenty of similar scenes on nights generally and over the country....

Who has described it as such?
I really like it ~ so much going on at the one time. I do hope that nobody was seriously injured and the guy lying on the road managed to hang onto his bottle of booze.
More like a Bruegel
Yes Wolfie - a well composed piece it is not the choice for my wall but well put together.

Just wondered about the origin of the description attributed in the OP.
It would make a good jigsaw if it wasn't for the missing links.
But the cars are on the wrong side of the road:)
Should this be in the art topic? ;0) A scene depicted in many areas new years eve, sad but true
It's a great photo, more L. S. Lowry than Michaelangelo.
More like a "to loos by heck"

Well the critic was describing it as such, who was minding his Guide Dog?
Probably no loos open on Wall Street at that time of night.;-)

I think it's the composition that has caught the imagination , life is like that sometimes.
Lol retrocop!
It's hardly in the category of "F8, and be there".

I don't envy what the police and other emergency services end up having to deal with.
Spot on Eve x
The actual photograph is good quality. I like it.
