Thanks to both of you. I thought acolyte, but couldn't get the y from the clue. Could you explain please?
A holy helper is an acolyte and I can see it is anagram of locate+y but can't parse the y as being mid Wales
Even in Cymru the Y's in the wrong place.
In place names the letter 'y' means 'in the' loosely 'middle'? tenuous I agree

Thank you, I thought Cymru too, but as you say it's not in the middle. It's obviously the right answer but a bad clue. Thanks again.
