Question Author
Naomi, I doubt it would have come this far without someone as hot as you there to keep the heat on.

Listen to me. Now sooner does the possibility that we might have the sanctuary to ourselves cross my mind then its thoughts turn towards it favourite preoccupation. Get a grip mibs! . . . on second thought . . . there is another matter that I would appreciate your thoughts on . . . besides the mysterious inception of the - in China-Doll.

With all due respect to your apparent intelligence, while under the impression that you have had experience as a parent and so may be able to shed some light with a different perspective on this matter . . . are the jnos of this world suffering from an overriding maternal instinct (assuming it is a she) in their propensity to defend the indefensible? Are they oblivious to or simply evasive with regards to the mental anguish and torment they, through their pandering to the oblivious and evasive, inflict on those who are responsibly seeking the truth?
Question Author
When it comes to showing some compassion I admit to a tendency to view the suffering of those endowed with greater intelligence (or is it greater honesty?) and those who refuse to automatically yield their minds like clay to the potter, as proportionately and pronouncedly greater than the suffering of those who are simply victims of their refusal to acknowledge and accept responsibility for their own (or lack of) understanding. I wont even bother to ask if you believe this is little more than a personally skewed viewpoint, as if I believed you incapable of distinguishing the difference I would most likely have not bothered to ask. But hey, if Im missing something by all means line me out!

And thanks Naomi, not in advance, but for the virtues youve already demonstrated through your contributions.
Starman, I don't know if jno is male or female. At first I thought male, but now I have my doubts. Whatever gender, it hadn't occurred to me that the mindset arises from any paternal/maternal instinct, but simply from an incurable case of ostrich syndrome. People like this are, to their detriment, and to the detriment of those around them, innately terminally evasive, and their palpable oblivion to the results of their pandering upon themselves and upon those around them is starkly apparent. This, I believe, is an incurable condition.

jno's link, although intended in some way to verify the benefits of religion to the human state, simply demonstrates the inability of the inadequate to exist without the support of those with whom they can relate, a requirement indicating, in my opinion, a weakness of mind - nothing else.

Where compassion is not obviously justified, it is a difficult one to assess, since some thrive on it We should, perhaps, show compassion in such instances, but not for the perceived trials and tribulations that these people feel they suffer, but for their inability to rid themselves of the egocentric streak that dominates their lives, inducing them to continually and purposefully demand attention through the application of unwarranted sympathy.

The truly liberated mind has no imaginary prop to support it, nor to explain the inexplicable, it has nothing to encourage futile hope, and most importantly, through an awareness of its own shortcomings, and an acknowledgement of the reasons for the failings of those who have wielded influence upon it, it attains greater understanding of the human psyche, thereby elevating itself above the imposition of blame on others for its own deficiencies. It stands, not alone, but shoulder to shoulder with the might of purpose and reason, and although the pain it endures may indeed prove to be more pronounced, in my opinion, the intellect is rendered stronger for the experience.

Oops .... I've read your post again, and I got so carried away with my reply, I'm not sure I answered your question. I'm sure you'll let me know, though. :o)

And thank you for your kind words. x
Question Author
I suppose what I was aiming for in a round about way was a unique perspective that gave me something to ponder over . . . and that's what I got. :o)
Looking forward to reading the results of your ponderings.

Night. x
too lazy to read all past posts, and injured due to accident in work, (knee sprain), keep falling down! No alcohol!
Anyway, for what it is worth, I concur with the thought that new blood is required in thew Sanctuary.
Contact should be made with e mail or private message in sports, and a new face recruited - or two?

Wodjathink?

Waldo gets my vote.
Question Author
Back in the day, I accepted an invite from Waldo, but it never did blossom into an in depth interview or discussion. Although I was somewhat disappointed I take responsibility upon myself for the let down. Establishing and maintaining relationships has never been my strong suit. As strongly opinionated and off the beaten path are my views I feel fortunate to have anyone around still willing to listen.

But if anyone thinks they can persuade Waldo to join in the mayhem, you've got my vote. If all are agreed I'd be delighted to post my e-mail address (out there) along with a request . . . I recommend someone else compose the actual invitation.

Has anyone actually seen Waldo around lately?
He hasn't been around for ages, Starman, until a week or so back, when he leapt to my defence against my latest stalker. I haven't seen him since, though. I get the impression that both he and Chakka are pretty tired of the nonsense of R&S - and I can't say I blame them. I'm getting that way myself.

Oh, by the way, Starman - must try harder!

Hello, Theland, nice to see you - but sorry about your crooked knee. What's the prognosis? Can we still post personal messages in Sports? I thought that was all finished.

Any news of Luna, Theland?
Question Author
Chakka is apparently alive and kicking . . . and making a valiant attempt to bring your thread back on topic.

My apologies for the neglect Naomi but with you and Rojash stirring up the ashes its about all I can do to keep up with the stirring of the pots.
I give up. I don't think I want to be as smart as any of you.

[email protected] if you wish to discuss it further but otherwise... Your intolerence is as much as I can tolerate and still hold my head up for what I think.

Take care and much love and best wishes to you all xx
China, I won't get into the accusation of intolerance right now - although I could offer a very valid argument - but first things first. I hesitate to ask, because from today's debacle, I'm not sure my concern will be welcome, but aren't you being rather hasty?

I'm going away tomorrow - but hopefully by the time I return next week, peace and 'sanctuary' will have been restored to the sanctuary.

Night everyone. x
Message for Theland and Luna,

China's left the Sanctuary, Starman's left AB, and I'm left bemused. In short, this little haven, it appears, is no more.

I just thought someone ought to tell you. x

It grieves me so much to learn of the demise of our little club, which was for me at least, a Sanctuary of friendship and charitable demeanour, even if we often took a side swipe at each other.
Oh the blessed glory of friendship, even if politically, religiously, culturally and linguistically etc etc etc we were all poles or planets apart.
What we had was preciou yearss, and we are fools, if, we can possibly make the effort to post, we choose not to.
I have not posted because of a heavy work schedule, health problems, and the demise of my marriage of 37
years. (Continued)
