I also find that the nicest serviettes can be "obtained" from Costa Coffee

if you buy large sausage rolls you can cut them into 6 portions .
and i ensure each guest has a twiglet.
night lights in jam jars adds a nice touch .

yoga, a book may be in the offing. My last book was well received and a review in the local paper said
once I put this book down I couldn't pick it up

mallyh - twiglets are easy. Simply snip a few small twigs from a tree and marinade them in Marmite
Don't forget the Minty broon sauce either.....and probably Irn Bru would make for a very nice Chateau d'Abo Rigines Armapit to accompany it.

DTC, I draw the line at broon sauce.
I do have standards you know! (Even if they are fairly low lol)
Some very good advice here and I'll be sure to keep it in mind. What an evening gness will have as and when she visits now that I'm armed with how to put on a proper dinner!
if serving sauces, use the new sachets that you have nicked. Don't be stingy and offer the half used ones
Go the back of any restaurant and look in the bins; some excellent salad to be had.
DTC - i doubt that that is 'igh class enough for Mrs Overthere.
