As above, I am on the verge of a mental breakdown!!

Went on holiday on Monday. Was really, really looking forward to some sun, and spending some time with a friend(ish).
Well, it was a complete and utter disaster. I had a massive panic attack (like, literally, it couldn't have been any worse!) my friend said I was some kind of mentalist, and I had to pay £160, yes £160 just to change my return flight home!! :-(

Have I missed anything exciting? I hope so. I need something, anything, to cheer myself up...

Without wishing to sound harsh (tone is hard to inject on the internet), it sounds like you need to get a better grip on your anxiety otherwise think of all the other things you're going to end up missing out on and conside what you may also be passing along to your kids. Perhaps you need to go back to GP and see if you can get on some of the CBT that you said helped you...

Oh dear mm... how are you now ?
Question Author
Oh god, completely forgot to say, I am also on a totally new laptop (not mine) that I have no idea how to use (windows 8) as I threw mine to the floor and the screen is totally wonderfully fluffed!! :-(
what a lovely friend....i hope you told them they were being a tw@. at least you are back in familiar fields now.....x
be optimistic - you probably would have spent £200 on wine, suntan cream and all the rest, so you have saved money!
Yikes MM, poor you. Were you away somewhere nice? x
wasn't a 2 camel swap for you enough - lol
You've been a bit stressed what with fridge ..couch etc. Maybe going away with someone who was only an ish friend not a good idea....not very supportive or constructive to name call...you need to be with folks you know and trust...

Lcg, he was a complete and utter Snag! Said I was "mental" and that I should "get a grip".
Ok, so I know I probably should have, but it's easier said than done, and when I'm 'on one' (panic/anxiety) then there's not much I can do about it.

DT, lol. Yeah, good point!! :-) Have I missed much?

V&C, I went to Egypt. I hadn't planned it. It was very much by 'surprise'. I thought I was looking forward to it, but I think it was just all a bit last minute. I only found out where I was going the day before. I'd had no time to get injections or anything - which might have been why I was so anxious.

Lol Tambo. There was no camel ugly enough.... :P
well ummmm and fgt are in their usual place having tried to needle JJ.
Question Author
Murray, I think you've hit the nail right on the head there!
I did think it would be good to 'get away', but didn't really think too much about the company I was going with. I missed my kids. It was the first time I've ever been away from them. My friend didn't seem to grasp this either. Muppet...

Dt, eh? They've been suspended? What happened? :-/

you shudda booked into another hotel & enjoyed the wonders of Egypt. You missed the sphynx, pyramids, babylon, Artmis temple, Aswan. Then to Sharm diving to view coral reef & fish etc etc etc.

You are mad to miss all that.
Question Author
Tambo, yes, I am well aware of all that. I am also well aware of the face I'm mental!!! :-((
You're not mental, just wrong company. Take the kids, you'll all love it.
This will cheer you up. He's so bad he's good.
Charlie Chuck.
Failing that check out the Jokes section on this website.

Not sure about the 'jokes' section. It may just throw me over the edge....

Question Author
MM, I kid you not, on the first night there I was missing AB! That's not normal, is it! lol xx
I am on the verge of one too - had techie problems last week - got some of them solved but have now got a wavy screen when scrolling - Chuckfickens was helping me out but maybe he has gone out for the day. Hope he picks up tomorrow. I know what you are talking about - you think you need to get away and then when you are you want to be back on familiar grounds. Dont worry about your friend/ish. Bad move there. You need to know somebody to spend days with them.
