Boris pledged to scrap it because it got him votes.

Meanwhile Porsche had a legal challenge to it, and have been awarded a 6 figure amount in costs. Taypayers money, but they are going to give it away.

Planet my arse, dya really think a Range Rover or 2 is going to make any difference to polar bears or icebergs?

Wait until the olympics start and you see the state of the air over there,

It`s that bad the pole vaulters will go out of view

Mr Johnson told the BBC "I am delighted that we have been able to scrap the £25 charge which would have hit families and small businesses hardest"

Small businesses like Porche and Bently presumably?

Why should people pay more because of the cars they drive? Quite right. They should be allowed to buy petrol at a discount too, because it's so unfair them having to pay £100 to fill their tanks when a Smart driver only has to pay £30. A wise mayor will sort this out, though it won't leave much money lying around for the deputy mayor to trouser.

it has been scrapped because old boy ken and his politics of envy wanted to lump the charge up from £8 to £25 with no incremental banding, or residential discount,

it left people open to a 3125% increase on a vehicle maybe only producing 10% more emissions,

of course in following years the band would have been reduced until almost every car fell into the £25 bracket,

Polictics of envy?

Sounds a bit like turning up to a familly wedding drinking 15 pints of Stella throwing up over the Bride and Groom and yelling "your just jealous!" as they kick you out.

These were Band G Cars - Range Rovers Audi A8s etc.

Still To go back to the wedding analogy Boris has a history of such behaviour he was a member of the Bullingdon Club after all

Here you have a classic Labour or Tory agenda. Whilst the Eton Toff is protecting the £ for upper class voters the Labour party of the country are trying to penalise them. There must be more upper class voters in the country now then when Labour came to power thats all I can say.

Don't worry it's not been scapped, because Labour has found a way to grab in more money, by the new car tax scheme.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-103382 6/Brown-accused-misleading-MPs-car-tax-increas es.html

The peoples of this country are seeing huge increases in the price of food, domestic fuel. vehicle fuel, and the threat of unemployement hovering over their heads. In fact they are finding things increasingly difficult, and they say it will become worse.

Yet what does this caring Labour Goverment do, you've got it claw in even more from us in taxes.

Have Your Say

With road tax hikes hitting those with 2001-2006 registered cars, would you consider selling up and buying a pre-2001 model to escape the the tax mans wrath?
