I wish that you would stop making assumptions as to the way we cast our votes.

Thanks gully. But look out the AB Terrorists are yet again in attack mode. :>)))))

///Argy Military Junta invaded the Islands hardly something we desired or could have arranged.///

It was certainly encouraged (in diplomatic circles) by Thatcher implying they could have them. But that's always kept under wraps of course.

So you're privvy to info that's been kept hidden for over 40 years despite social media?

NMA 11.30 "There's no doubt who'll be the PM in 12 months time"

Have to agree with you . Can't wait to see your lot attacking him from the opposition benches.

canary: "It was certainly encouraged (in diplomatic circles) by Thatcher implying they could have them. But that's always kept under wraps of course" - do you have any evidence to support that claim?

Ich at 11.29 - you almost sound surprised!

TTT at 5.45. Of course he doesn't.

Canary, like one or two others of her s ilk on this site (we all know who they are), tells blatant lies, makes crap up, and then presents it as facts.

It's actually quite amusing in an 'I feel sorry for you' kind of way.

I have a grown-up nephew who has learning disabilities, bless him, and he says the sort of crud Canary and one or two others say.

*his ilk

How many Geordies lads and other working class  lads joined the army in Thatchers days just to escape working in the coal pits. And how many of them died charging Argentine machine gun nests along with lads from the Welsh valleys So that Thatcher and her party could get re-elected.

The mask (such as it is) slipped with "Sunak knows if he can get you lot, walking around singing ....Rule Britannia.."

Marks you out as who you are are what you are

Funny isn't it, how Thatcher freed The Falklands, entirely legitimately, following an invasion of a self governing British overseas territory, which the feeble minded have convinced themselves was so Thatcher could win a second term, and yet these same feeble-minded people are quite happy to give Blair a pass for an illegal war which killed far more many brits than the Falklands war did.

18:19 ....and ask those people what they would have done at the time and the silence is deafening. I always assume they would just have let the Junta keep the islands and sacrifice our citizens in an orgy of hand wringing.

Economic and social unrest had taken it's toll on the Conservative popularity in those days ..*Just like it is these days*    and Thatcher knew that she and her party were toast.

Thatcher needed to find a way to get re/elected and she acted quickly and jumped on the band wagon when the Falklands started fermenting not caring a stuff about loss of life as long as she got herself re,elected

Pointless trying to reason with a proponent of such calumny.
