They've got 3 months to knock down the large "spa" in the garden- I wonder- what would Captain Tom think to his family's handling of his legacy?  Not great publicity for him, or the family.

He'd probably be thinking, "Who'd have children?"

Family eh? 🙄

he would say - -- my courage is my own, my money is my daughter's

(Charles II ( not III settle down settle down all of you) was told by a courtier ( haw haw haw) that they were saying about him " never said a foolish thing and never said a wise one. Chazzy boy ( II not III) replied 1680 - my words are my own my actions are my ministers (!)

O god - Doug - I was having therapy at Christies' and the leddy opposite was saying fings like " I dont want a transfusion, I dont have time. I run a business. Can you do the chemo tomorrow" and all that

and I leant forward and whispered - that leaves your family, who wont do what you damn well tell them

and I thought her head was gonna like that scene in Scanners ( and not from chemo)

sozza readers that last comment is only applicable if you recollect Ronald Reagan - son a bally dancer  ( ballet not belly)

Carter hopeless drunk brother -daughter cdnt play the violin

King Chazz and hazza

sometimes like father not like son

I don't know what he'd make of it but it saddens me that so many people believe his daughter has taken the money raised by Tom's walking for the NHS.

i think he would be for whatever benefitted him and his family, as most people would be

Isn't the issue here that she has sought permission to build a musuem to her father but instead put the museum in a small room and the rest is a 'spa' which requires different consent?

Yes

it saddens me that so many people believe his daughter has taken the money raised by Tom's walking for the NHS.

well, looking at the accounts the Charity commission COULD start an action for return of any money ( converted) on a civil basis. Cause of action: breach of trust / fiduciary duty

the law is straight forward on this - depends on the facts of course - which in this case wd be balance of probabilities

Never did like the look of her, shady character. Never saw anything of her sister, she probably didn't like what she saw or suspected of her sister.

i think he would be for whatever benefitted him and his family, as most people would be

then you would get screwed by various agencies, chrissakes

it is public money - collected for a purpose - charitable purpose and guess what? me and dad is NOT a charitable purpose and never has been. Jesus

She paid herself £100k as trustee of the charity and I think the current legislation takes care of that ( = you cant), obvious conflict.

Ay drawer the line at HAzza and Archewell - american law

I think he'd be terribly saddened that people he trusted have let him down so badly.

had they stuck to the premise of the original planning permissions and paid for it from the trust - then not an issue.

the fact that they changed in secret to install a spa and got the trust to pay for it has upset a lot of people

Saddened and disappointed I would imagine.

I'm grateful the old geezer didn't live to see what a bunch of wronguns his family are.

He'd probably be thinking, "Who'd have children?"

From where I am, I can hear the good folk of Marston Moretaine tutting in disbelief.

Where there's a will...there's a relative

Spa as in spaffing ...
