Surely anyone can see that Israel was attacked and is retaliating. Yet I see on some of the British news outlets lots examples of people who seem to support the terrorists of Hamas even though they appear to have started the whole thing and committed unimaginable horrors. I don't get it.

"Hamas killed innocent Israeli citizens on 7th October.Since then, Israel has killed over 5000 innocent Palestinians. So the comparison is natural."It may be 'natural' but completely wrong.  This is what we are constantly told- "Look how many Gazans were killed and how few Israelis"- well, look at how many German civillians were killed and how fewer...

One can sympathise with innocents on both sides without supporting terrorism.

You can. Not so sure about some other people ..

Nobody has answered your question of whether it's a British thing or not. Are you any the wiser Kardashev?

untitled: "I think they are equivalent. " - so all the horrors committed by Hamas are equivalent to collateral damage in Untitled land? Right oh!

18:20, bang on hazi.

yes tora. calling dead children and entire families blown up "collateral damage" does nothing to diminish the horror  of those deaths or the responsibility of those who killed them. it is a deceitful phrase which means nothinh. it is also dishonest when the the head of the IDF spokespeoples' unit has stated that their goal is "damage and not accuracy".

//the head of the IDF spokespeoples' unit has stated that their goal is "damage and not accuracy". //

I get the distinct impression that you're putting your own spin on this and reading that as 'murder and not accuracy'.  If you are that is, to use your terminology, 'deceitful'.

The Hamas terrorists started this bloodfest(or more likely the Iranianians).Unless the ordinary Gazaians stand up to the Hamas terrorists in their midst they cant expect anything less than massive retribution from the Israelis.Maybe the Holocaust has been forgotten in the rest of the world,it wont be in Israel.

he has said it more than once naomi and has not seen fit to issue a correction despite it being widely reported. if they aren't concerned with accuracy then they don't care about killing civilians.

What about the Hamas official on the other thread who says they have not killed any civillians as they regard all Israelis as military targets.  At least the Israelis are trying to avoid civillian deaths so they say.  Hamas are not at all and there are many Palestinian Israelis are they military targets as well.

"What about the Hamas official on the other thread who says they have not killed any civillians as they regard all Israelis as military targets"

also an evil thing to say. hamas does not care about killing civilians either.

"At least the Israelis are trying to avoid civillian deaths so they say."

i don't believe them

//he has said it more than once naomi and has not seen fit to issue a correction despite it being widely reported.//

There has been no correction because there has been no error.  Any error in that statement is in your mind.

//if they aren't concerned with accuracy then they don't care about killing civilians.//

That's not only irrational, it's not true.  If Israel didn't care about killing civilians they would have advised civilians to move south.

but they are still bombing them when they move south naomi. quite a lot of the people evacuating per their instructions have been killed.

bombing of evacuees is targeting civilians.

*wouldn't

untitled, they're not targeting civilians.  Get a grip.   Your posts are becoming more and more hysterical.

There's a big difference between targeting civilians and knowing that, in all probability, some will be killed.

if all these civilian deaths are "accidents" then the IDF must be the most clouseau-esque accident-prone military organisation in the world.

at a certain point zacs i don't think the difference is all that big... especially when you also forbid people from leaving the danger zone and continue bombing areas that people flee to. i'm sorry i just don't believe them.

You do have a point there (about them not being allowed to leave).

Untitled, has it occurred to you that one of the reasons people may be prevented from leaving the area is because Israel doesn't know who Hamas is or who among the civilian population is working for them?
