FGS Kay Burley et al, what is the response to burning/beheading 50 your boys? 7000 rockets targetting civilians? Indescriminate massace of men women and children in a festival, a kibbutz? I'll tell you there is no proportion of response, hamas must be wiped out. We must back Israel as we did Ukraine. Un effing believable idiotic questions from Journalists.

//Why Do Journos Keep Asking About The Proportion Of Israels Response?//Some of these reporters/ journalists hold anti semitic attitudes, some of the news outlets that they work for have the same covert agenda. Our very own left wing politicians barely try to conceal this, and indeed revel in any discomfort inflicted on the Jewish peoples. It is a...

I've not been following the details as I've plenty of depressing things to deal with without stressing out more by avidly reading and listening to more about the Middle East, who never seems able to settle their issues; but I'm guessing your journalists are suggesting that two wrongs don't make a right, and that it isn't the right action to drop all moral beliefs and standards in order to be as bad as those whom you oppose. If so, then they are reasonable questions to ask.

Well it is fair enough to ask the question so long as they will listen to the answer.

Plus it's flushing out the terrorist (and they are deemed terroists in this country) supporters.

Because somehow it has to be justified as Israel's fault.

The problem is Naomi decent people (Yes I know I am not one apparently) will always give air to all sides.  So long as its a question and not done in a gloating or biased fashion it should be ok.

We dont want to look like the terrorist supporting left do we?

OG: ".....and that it isn't the right action to drop all moral beliefs and standards in order to be as bad as those whom you oppose. If" - I haven't noticed Israel beheading babies, burning children, generally butchering civilians.

You don't have to, you just need to note what actions the journalists are questioning.

But they are questioning quite resonable responses.

I'm all for eliminating Hamas. But not tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians in Gaza.

If you justify that, your are as bad as the evil terrorists.

where have I said any such thing gromit?

What do you suggest Israel does, Gromit?

Im with Old Geezer on this.  I was glad to see BBC news last night gave a balanced view.

again - - - let loose again

The problem that faces Israel is different to the one facing Ukraine: it's pretty easy for Ukraine to avoid civilian casualties certainly on a mass scale. Harder for Israel. The fear is Israel might lose some of the sympathy if it does wade into Gaza.

i do not see any moral difference between going into a village to massacre the inhabitants and destroying an apartment block full of families in a crowded urban area... i am glad that israeli authorities are at least being questioned by someone about this though it does not seem to be doing very much

both hamas and the israeli government are terrorist institutions which are happy to kill and injure powerless civilians for political reasons... the situation does not strike me at all like that of ukraine which has attempted to extricate itself from russian imperialism for years

another important difference is that the israeli government supported the creation of hamas because they wanted to set palestinian opposition groups against each other, very much as the USA did with the mujahideen... they are a big part of why a terrorist organisation like hamas now has the position it does gaza... in contrast ukraine does not of course have any responsibility at all for the regime that controls russia

All very true untitled.

untitled: "i do not see any moral difference between going into a village to massacre the inhabitants and destroying an apartment block full of families in a crowded urban area" - Accidentally hitting civilians is not the same as systematically murdering them in horrific ways.

You didnt expect a Commie to see that did you TTT?

-- answer removed --

i have not heard any israeli official claim that civilians are killed by accident... usually they describe them as collateral damage or the cost of war (mayor of jerusalem said this on c4)... which is exactly the same logic hamas uses.

the bombings of civilians in gaza have not anywhere been claimed as "accidental" and i am unsure why my previous answer was removed...
