...no doubt the 5C will come along and pour scorn on this deal but hey that's their job!

I wonder how many would stay with dominating spouse for fear of going it alone and being prepared to work to rebuild a life free of someone else's control? You Remainers are so weak. You know the price of everything and the value of nothing - but moan on, as is your preference. This country will survive and thrive despite it.

Yes, BOB it would appear the £1.8 billion is the difference between the annual figure now compared to fifteen year later.

That does not mean it will be £1.8 billion higher each year so the average must be lower.
obvs yes. for the first few years its less than £1.8b pa, dont doubt that
I can’t see why anyone has a problem with this. We’ve left the EU and we’re moving on.
The problem is some are not moving on.

You lot lost, suck it up we aint going back no matter how much you moan. The terms would be devastating for starters and that would be the end of our sovereignty. Mind you I know from past posts a couple of the above would love that as they clearly hate it here.
I can't see why apparently so many Brexit supporters expected everything to be great so soon. I honestly expected multiple problems for many years. No way do I have any regrets about leaving the EU. In fact the more I see and hear about the EU now, the more I am relieved not to be part of it.

They(most) dont, it is the remainers who claim that. Truth is far from it.
YMB, I agree.

Oh they do though Naomi, there are organisations out there that hate the concept of the UK being independent and prosperous. Right on cue a campaign group with "activists" in Holland and UK have taken umbrage and are bringing a lawsuit against the Government based on the hope that the deal is in contravention to agreed climate control agreements. Is the Hague still in Holland?
Yes, perhaps you are right Ymf.
The US has not signed up to this. Both Trump and Biden decided it would be bad for jobs at home, and would result in supply chains being stretched and inferior goods flooding the US.
If Trump and Biden agreed, it must be really bad.

One of the problems they have is that our membership of the TPP will inevitably involve us moving away from the regulatory standards of the EU and make it far more difficult - some say almost impossible - for the UK to rejoin the EU. That is a big problem for those who refuse to accept that we've left and that it is not just a temperature aberration.
Yes, NJ, and this is where the botch-up of the N. Ireland question will lead to big trouble.
I never expected immediate huge improvements either, but I am angry about the way our fishing industry has been let down.
‘I can’t see why anyone has a problem with this. We’ve left the EU and we’re moving on’

Yeah, downwards. Anyone actually read my LSE article identifying exactly how much trade we’ve lost?
But don't forget the light bulbs, Zacs! :-)
I haven’t. ;-)
ZACS, "Anyone actually read my LSE article identifying exactly how much trade we’ve lost?"

Which of the authors is you...?
Ah yes, ok. My LSE link.
Anyone? I bet Tora didn’t. He’s been conspicuous by his absence on this thread.

bobinwales: "I know it's only getting a fraction back of what we lost but that's not the point... brexits done and the moneys lost...still no reason to turn noses up at £1.8 billion pa even if its alot less than we already lost " - no one knows what is "lost" all the figures are obscured by multiple crises.
My link to the LSE article has a damn good stab at the losses, Tora. Or do you have some different figures?
